What is the fastest off-road RC car?

Are electric off-road RC cars faster than Nitro?

While we’re on the topic of speed, it’s useful to know what to look for in an RC car if you’re looking for exhilarating speed. RC cars run on batteries (electric) or fuel (nitro). The two types of electric motors used in RC cars are brushed and brushless.

The brushed motor derives its name from the microscopic contact brushes that spin the motor. Brushed motors are available in fixed and non-fixed versions, and fixed motors cannot be modified.

Brushless motors do not have contactless brushes in the motor, hence the name. They are becoming increasingly popular for RC cars. The lack of brushes in the motor allows for reduced friction and heat, both of which contribute to poor motor performance.

This also means that brushless motors can handle higher voltage supply than brushed motors, which gets the RC cars going at high speeds quickly. This makes brushless motors faster and more powerful than brushed motors and nitro.
