Once you’ve found the perfect RC car, you’ll want to keep it in tip-top shape and looking great even after a fun day on the dirt track. Here are some cleaning tips for your vehicles.

How to clean Traxxas models

The good news is that washing your RC vehicles doesn't require any special cleaning agents to keep them looking excellent.

  1. Remove the batteries for the vehicle and use compressed air and a brush to blow out dust and debris that may have got caught.

  2. If your vehicle is waterproof and has been in mud or harsh road conditions, spray it down with all-purpose cleaner to loosen up dirt and grease.

  3. Use a brush to remove any dirt, grass, or other debris that has accumulated.

  4. Scrub down the chassis and remove and wash the wheels thoroughly. Once the wheels are off, clean off the steering and suspension.

  5. Hose down the vehicle (body included) using a low-pressure hose on the chassis and wheels. Ensure to cover the breather hole in the wheels to keep them from taking in water.

  6. Use a rag or cloth to dry the vehicle, and use compressed air to blow out any excess water from hard-to-reach areas.

  7. Spray rust inhibitor on all the exposed bearings and metal parts, then leave in a warm area to finish drying before you reassemble.

*Protip: Clean your cars after every run to keep them looking shiny and minimize wear and tear.
