Does the Traxxas Maxx have a slipper clutch?
This was a change that Traxxas decided would be best for this model. The Traxxas Maxx 4s uses an elastomer cushion between the spur gear and its hub, instead of the slipper clutch, in order to protect against overloads that could overwhelm the spur gear.
Additionally, the Traxxas Maxx 4s is affixed with 2.8” wheels with keyed 17 mm hex receptor, large 5.5” all-terrain dual-diameter tires, and 1-piece foam inserts. They are pre-glued and TSM rated.
How long does a Traxxas 4s battery last?
Battery life is also no problem with this model. You can get up to a solid 90 minutes of play with this model before needing to recharge. And generally the batteries will last up to 2 years before needing to seek out a replacement.
